FAQ for Home Buddy medication dispenser

How does the medication dispenser work?

Our easy-to-use pill dispensers can release pills up to four times per day. A client, caregiver, or medical professional can load the medications, set the clock, program the alarm, close and lock the lid. When the time comes to take your next dose, the alarm will sound and the dose will rotate unto position. The alarm stops when the dose will rotate into position. The alarm stops when the dose is taken out.

 Home Buddy's medication dispensers can be monitored by our Care Center, which means if you or your loved one misses a dose we can follow up and make sure that adherence occurs. On average, clients using out medication dispensers are 90% more compliant with their doctor's prescription regimen.

How many pills can the medication dispenser hold?

The medication dispenser has 28 compartments.  The number of pills each compartment can hold depends on the size and shape of the medication.

How many reminder alarms can I set?

You can set up to four daily alarms.

Will Home Buddy load my medication dispenser for me?

Home Buddy cannot load your medication dispenser, however, we would be happy to meet with your nurse or caregiver to show them how to set up and load the medication dispenser.

  Will my medication dispenser still work if my electricity goes out?

The Home Buddy medication dispenser utilizes AC power, but in the event of a power outage or short-term travel, it switches automatically to battery power.

Is the medication dispenser lockable?

Yes, the medication dispenser is lockable and comes with a key.

What if I leave and my medication dispenser is set to go off?

If you know you will not be home with the medication dispenser is set to dispense, you can remove your medication prior to leaving by unlocking the dispenser. If you do not do this, the missed medication will still be available to take when you return as long as a second dose has not also been missed.

Do you have a portable medication dispenser?

Yes, we have a small, portable medication dispenser that runs completely off of battery power. The portable dispenser also has 28 compartments and four daily alarms.
